Is there some significant performance increase
between SQL Server 7 and SQL Server 2K ?
'Cause I've done all my tests on SQL Server 7 and MSDE 7
and I was'nt impressed by the performances
(that we're comparable with thoses I had with Sybase)|||Originally posted by Karolyn

Cant comment much on that !! have not worked much on SQL Server 7.0|||Performance increases - New datatype(table), views (ability to index and partition), index enhancements such as ability to index a computed column and index creation, how text/ntext/image are stored ...

Read this article:

link (http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/0800/sql2000/default.aspx)|||You left out UDFs?|||That was referencing performance increases - udfs offer reusability, maintainability and extensibility ... Anyway, all the benefits of sql server 2000 are included in the link.|||Also ... don't mention udfs for a while after the permissions bug :-)|||yeah, brett, you almost started it again|||Originally posted by rnealejr
